The Story Behind the Song
While the holiday season comes but once a year, the spirit of the season should live on for the entire year. That’s the message of 'In The Spirit of The Holidays' our holiday single.
The song was written during the lockdown of 2020. Sue was reflecting on how the world had changed unexpectedly and that for most, there would not be the usual get-togethers of family and friends over the holidays. Many of us were understandably disheartened at the prospect. But it was also a reminder that the spirit of the holidays… peace, caring and compassion… can carry on and are needed all year around because we never know what lies ahead.
The song brings together a number musical elements to convey its message. Seasonal clavinet and bells blend with guitars, accordion and our harmonies. For 2022, we also created a new fresh remix of the song.
